Photorestrict Epetition

Details of Petition:

“On the 16th of February, the Government passed a law (in the Counter Terrorism Act) making it illegal to take a photograph of a police office, military personnel or member of the intelligence services - or a photograph which “may be of use for terrorism”. This definition is vague at best, and open to interpretation by the police - who under Home Secretary guidelines can “restrict photography in public places”. We call for these vague restrictions to be lifted, as they can easily be mis-used by the police.”

Ross Cup

The Ross Cup (Printed Images) was held this year by Reflex Photographic Club at Gillingham, on 21st November 2009. The 8 Prints submitted by IOTPS were selected by the selection committee which comprised Dave Silk, Russell Miles and John Couzins, selections were restricted to a maximum of 2 per photographer. The actual scores per image are not available yet but the team scores are on Reflex Photographic’s website at http://www.reflexphoto.co.uk/Ross2009.pdf and on the KCPA website.

Quarterly Competitions

It has become necessary to remind members of the requirements for the images used in digital competitions, these must be 72 dpi with the required "canvas" size of 1024 pixels across by 768 pixels high, anything else will not be shown.  If the image is smaller or of a portrait orientation then the area outside the image needs to be filled in solid black.

If you are still unsure check this hints and tips digital format page.

Prints that are over the 40cm by 50cm size, (that is 400mm by 500mm) will also be refused entry to the quarterly competitions, if the near future the rules dictate that the size is exactly 40cm by 50cm even though the image can easily be accommodated on an A4 size mount, until then the mount size is 40cm by 50cm maximum.
