Monday 11th July
The sixth Out and About was at Folkestone Harbour. We started at the disused harbour railway station where we
found an unusual statue. There was plenty of fisherman, also skaters at the Fun Park and people getting wet in the
fountains. At the end we settled for fish and chips before returning back home.
Monday 4th July
The fifth Out and About photography was at Broadstairs Harbour. Weather was good and there was plenty of
images taken of the surrounding area. There was the harbour, boats, starfish, equipment, beach scenes, buildings,
seafront, good sky, sunset and lights.
Monday 27th June
The fourth Out and About photography was at Dover Harbour. There was lots happening including some interesting
changes of light. There were swimmers, jet skis, boats, ships, light houses, beach paths and lights. Quite a nice
frontage at Dover.
Monday 20th June
The third Out and About was at Reculver starting in the pub. Let down by the weather I was pleased to see two
more members attend. After a pint and a chat, the rain paused and we still managed a few images. Here Dave is
assisting Oli keeping dry with his Bronica Medium 6 x 6 format film camera.
Monday 13th June
The second Out and About photography was taken in Sandwich. We had three 15 minute challenges, although the
last one lasted a bit longer.

Monday 6th June
The first Out and About was at Margate starting at Arlington Square. This a disused shopping centre that is
awaiting redevelopment. We made our way down to the clock tower and onto the beach towards the harbour.

Monday 18th July
The seventh Out and About was at Standard Quay Faversham for Thames Sailing Barges. The Quay is very tidal
and muddy. We ventured into the boat yard where we found plenty of photo opportunities. Well worth another
visit.
Monday 25th July
The eight Out and About was at Ramsgate Harbour. Another well supported evening. We made our way down
Jacobs Ladder and popped into the Seaman’s Mission Church Then we went the along the West Pier. Plenty of
good photographs taken. The sky had become very flat and we made our way along the harbour. At this point
just two of remained and had a hot drink in one of the cafés. The light going towards a dark blue and we then
went to Harbour Parade to take photographs of the café and harbour lights.
Monday 1st August
The ninth Out and About was at Deal Pier. We had early start on the beach under Deal Pier with very good light.
After a while we went along the pier and for two of us we spent the whole evening taking various images. Just
over half the group ventured onto the beach by the fishing boats, but were disappointed as the good light on
the pier was missing on the beach. So back to the pier to end the evening with a sunset.
Monday 8th August
The tenth Out and About was at Herne Bay. When we arrived the light was quite poor but the sun was
highlighting Reculver in the distance and the nearby coastline. It didn’t last long and we then went on the new
Pier to the viewing gallery. After a while we came back and went along the beach to see a golden sunset.
Monday 15th August
The eleventh Out and About was at Reculver. The light again wasn’t that great but there was an interesting
cloud formation. Shame it moved but we went down on the rocks and got some nice images. Later it started to
rain but by then we were done.
Monday 22th August
The twelveth Out and About was at Whitstable. The light again wasn’t that great and there was light rain. After
a while the rain stopped and the sun started to glow through some cracks in the cloud. A little later and an
amazing afterglow appeared making the whole evening worthwhile. A good end to this seasons Out and Abouts.
